- Main customers: Italian Ministry of Defence, Thales, AVIO and NATO.
- Mission: Design and Manufacturing of Special, Tactical Vehicles and Amphibious.
- Main products:
- AGC 170 (Airlift Global Carrier): a prime mover designed for transport, with cargo, by C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. - ARISGATOR: amphibious, APC and IFV, derived from the M113., - ARK: logistic amphibious derived from the M548, - TORO: double frequency diesel power generator, 50 and 400 Hz, used for SPADA, NIKE and Hawk missile systems. - TPA 90: 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, continuously variable transmission, aircraft (MD80, B737, C130 Hercules, etc.) towing tractor. ARIS is qualified ISO 9001-2000 and NATO AQAP 2110 for design and production of special, amphibious vehicles and tactical, precise power generators. AGC 170 The AGC 170 is in service with the Italian Air Force for the NATO Rapid Reaction Force. It is used for the rapid deployment of the MBDA Spada low- to medium-altitude surface-to-air missile system, although it can be used for the transport/handling of a variety of other items. The ARIS AGC 170 is capable of C-130 Hercules transport aircraft DO-DO (drive-on/drive-off) operations complete with cargo and requires no assistance from any form of loading or unloading equipment. A variety of equipment types can be transported between the two-axle short wheelbase towing tractor and the rear axle assembly, these including 20 ft ISO containers, assorted shelters or purpose-designed flatbeds mounting missile launchers, radar antenna etc. The purpose-designed towing tractor is available in 4 * 2 or 4 * 4 configuration, the 4 * 4 having independent suspension and a more powerful engine. The fifth wheel of the tractor is fitted with jib-type assembly that not only locates the container or other load, but also raises and lowers it hydraulically to facilitate the load and unload process on the aircraft. ARISGATOR The ARISGATOR consists in a marine kit, that, installed on the M113 APC, makes it a low cost, reliable and effective landing vehicle for marines and special forces. It carries 8 fully equipped men plus the pilot and can be fit with all the armament and the protection foreseen for the original M113 APC. It is fully qualified by the Italian Ministry of Defence and also by RINA (the Italian Naval Certification Authority) for sea keeping. It develops 6 kt into the sea, up to sea strength 4, and maintains the same performances of the original M113 on ground. It is fully compatible with the Italian Navy LPD`s. ARK Logistic, tracked amphibious vehicle, derived from M548. With a loading bay of 8,5 cubic meters for any kind of material (2,25 m large by 3,3 m long). It provides immense flexibility for roles in flood relief areas where it is capable of tackling the toughest terrain and sea state 4. It is equipped with a tilting bow to stabilise the vehicle in the water and has an aluminium hull with waterproofed engine compartment and a sealed electric system. Two stern ducts each incorporate a hydrostatically-driven propeller. The Ark is capable of handling a 6 tonne payload on land and a 5 tonne payload in water, and its compact size means it can be driven on public roads. On land the vehicle uses an innovative rubber track system. TORO Tactical, precise, power generator: it is the only one delivering two frequencies simultaneously: 45 kW continuous power @ 400 Hz 75 kW continuous power @ 50 Hz. It has been used with maximum reliability since more than 20 years on following missile systems: Spada HAWK NIKE Three TORO are deployed in a missile battery: two are working in parallel and the third is in stand by: s soon as one of the two is in trouble, the third starts automatically, parallel itself with the other running and the one in trouble stops. TPA 90 In use by the Italian Air force, for towing the C130 Hercules and other aircraft of similar mass. Very compact, 4 wheel drive, 4 steering wheels, with hydrostatic, continuous variable transmission, for very smooth driving and TPAaircraft towing. It is capable of 4,5 tonnes towing force, tested from -32°C to +55°C, can use both Diesel fuel and JP8. A.R.I.S. S.p.A.
